TransCore adds StarTrak’s ReeferTrak to mobile satellite services

TransCore will add StarTrak’s ReeferTrak RT-6000 to the portfolio of satellite communication products offered to North American carriers. Customers will access the full ReeferTrak service directly through StarTrak’s wireless network.

StarTrak has been integrating TransCore’s GlobalWave® satellite modem into its refrigerated carrier product, Reefer Trak®, for almost ten years.

Refrigerated freight accounts for approximately $5 billion worth of products transported each year.

StarTrak’s new RT-6000 product provides refrigeration management features for trailers, trucks, railcars and containers, including reefer status, temperature compliance, remote control, tractor ID and precision fuel information.

Communications are powered by TransCore’s GlobalWave satellite communications network, which includes three ground control stations that provide service to five continents and support customers worldwide including more than 600 commercial fleets throughout North America and the US Dept of Defence.

Last year, TransCore’s trailer tracking and communications unit reached distribution milestones exceeding 150,000 satellite communications transceivers worldwide.
