Shipping Corp of India (SCI) has teamed up with Hull & Hatch Lines (H&H) of the UAE to launch a new Red Sea container service.
The Red Sea - India Express Service (RIX) connects India’s two major west coast ports with east African and Arabian terminals.
Port rotation is: JNPT, Mundra, Aden, Djibouti, Hodeidah in Yemen, Jeddah, Port Sudan, Aqaba and JNPT.
Two vessels, each with an average capacity of 1,350 teu, will operate on the route on a 12-day frequency.
The service will also be integrated with SCI’s existing routes to and from Europe, western Asia and the Far East, Indian media reported.
Dubai-based H&H operates liner services to and from the Indian subcontinent, Asia and Africa.
