Menzies Aviation wins Delta Air Lines Cargo contract at London Heathrow; Cargo B appoints GSSAs for the UK & Ireland; Culina wins a major contract with Cadbury; five more companies sign up for SkyBitz’ asset tracking.

Menzies Aviation has been awarded the Delta Air Lines Cargo handling contract at London Heathrow Airport. The three-year contract began yesterday with the inauguration of Delta’s flights to London Heathrow. The airline already flies to London Gatwick.

Menzies Aviation will provide a full on-airport import and export cargo handling service to Delta, which operates three flights daily – two from New York JFK and one from Atlanta to London Heathrow using Boeing 767 aircraft.

Cargo B has appointed two key GSSAs: Euro GSA (with offices at Manchester and London Heathrow airports), and Dublin-based AirlineCargoServices.

In due course, Cargo B will also look at other markets and destinations such as the Middle East, North America and Mexico.

Culina Logistics has secured a major contract with Cadbury Trebor Bassett to handle the radial supply chain for its chocolate and confectionery brands.

The solution provided by Culina’s ambient operation involves shared-user distribution of orders, received by EDI, for individual pallets for radial distribution. Collections are made from Cadbury distribution sites at Minworth and Milton Keynes, and then delivered via the Culina network across the UK.

Culina’s IT system enables Cadbury to track order progress and PODs online.
