Dockwise lighter

Heavy lift player Dockwise has sold two older vessels to focus on “premium cargoes” with its remaining fleet.

The Bermuda-registered company said the 13,100-gt Dock Express 10 and the 12,100-gt Dock Express 12 (both built 1979) have gone to an unnamed buyer for a “modest book profit.”

The sales will optimise the composition of the fleet, it added.

Dock Express 10 has been delivered to the buyer on Tuesday, with the other vessel to follow by the end of April.

The sales were made following a cost-revenue analysis of their operation in markets with a low profit contribution.

At 30 years old, they would have needed more investment to meet Dockwise’s offshore equipment standards.

The owner said: “The buyer will operate both vessels in markets to which Dockwise has no access.”

Dockwise is left with one other dock-type ship and 15 open-deck units.
